Tobias Physical Therapy was founded by Joseph Tobias and is located in Brooklyn, NY. Joseph is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy who has been tending to the diverse rehabilitative needs of New Yorkers for many years. Prior to opening his own practice, Joseph administered intense rehabilitative therapy at several local hospitals. During that time, he treated patients suffering from various challenges due to spinal cord injuries, joint replacements, hip fractures, arthritis, cardiac conditions, and other post hospitalization complications. While guiding his patients through their rehabilitation, Joseph witnessed the human body's remarkable ability to heal itself, and how one can maximize that natural gift through physical therapy.

How Are We Different?
- Many practices have been moving towards an impersonal, high-volume style of care. We believe in quality over quantity. Our patients receive one-on-one care and personal attention.
- You receive a private account page on our website, where you can view home exercises designed specially for you by your therapist, along with progress reports written after each visit.
- An essential part of physical therapy is knowing when other specialists are needed and which specialists to call. We work with other care providers involved in a patient’s recovery, keeping them up-to-date on their patient's progress. For more information, see our Patient Progress page.
- We give back to the community by donating 10% of every dollar to local charities that aid seniors and the disabled.

Joseph first became interested in medicine as a young teenager, while spending his summers at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. After high school, he attended Brooklyn College's accelerated B.A-M.D program while starting his life with his new bride, Leigh. He then decided to put the MD program on hold in order to start a family.
While raising his two sons, David and Jack, Joseph became a Doctor of Physical Therapy. With the support of his wife and children, he began treating patients in the New York area. |
